Hey. This is the guy working on that issue. I had the same problem with my schools podcasts.  I didn't realize that I didn't actually finish my changes and get them submitted.  I just submitted a bug report to bugzilla with a patch attached to it. If you have the CVS version you can apply this patch and listen to your podcasts. I had to make one additional change in order to get the standard url's you posted to work (diff mime type.)

One nice thing about the iTunes service is that all feeds associated
with it are valid RSS 2.0 documents (Apple even employs people to do QC
on feeds before they are listed [1]).  So Stanford and Apple are playing
nice when it comes to their feeds.

Yes, as of a few weeks ago someone was working on this very issue (it's
actually a certificate validation failure.)  Haven't heard from him in
awhile, I'll try to get a hold of him and see where he's at with this.
