Virtual folders (for on-the-fly filtering....)

Hi balsa ppl,
I'm wondering whether anybody has done any work on virtual folders
(ie, non disk-based). The bletcherous dtmail (cde and currently the
active Sun standard) lets you use views (which are virtual folders)
so that you can filter mails without having to stuff those mails into
a physical disk-based folder. This would be a really neat feature
to have in balsa, and would certainly make it easier for a lot of 
my colleagues to move to.

I'm more than happy to do it myself but obviously I don't want to
duplicate any existing efforts....
