Problem with national characters and gtk 1.2.10

Hi,
I have upgraded gtk from 1.2.8 to 1.2.10.
I have checked balsa 1.1.1, 1.1.7, 1.2.pre3.
I didn't test other balsa releases.
The problem is in all balsa versions I have checked.

1.
locale set to pl_PL. In balsa language is set to Polish.
In fields "From", "To", "Cc" if you type polish characters, they don't
appear, but cursor moves position.
I you type some regular characters, is ok, and after that if you type
polish ones the whole string disappear. Then, if you click mouse on another
entry, and click back on this one you have typed text, the string appears.
But when you type a character, the string disappears again.
The "Subject" and "Bcc" entries are not affected.

2.
locale set to en_US or C.
I start balsa. Language is set to English, so I change it to Polish.
Now everything works fine.

So it looks, that if using polish locales something is initialised in a bad
way.
I don't know if it is a bug in balsa or in gtk.
But, because "case 2" works fine, and "Bcc" entry in "case 1" I suspect
that there is something wrong with balsa, or at least, that you may put
some work-around for that.

Regards,

Olaf Fraczyk
