Hang when accessing message on Red Hat 7.0/7.1, but not 7.2

On the current CVS version of Balsa, I get a hang the first time I try to 
view a message after startup. This happens on Red Hat 7.0 and Red Hat 7.1 
hosts, but on the ones with 7.2 installed. The build host was running Red 
Hat 7.1.

Any ideas what may be wrong?
