Thanks, that worked. I'll take this out for a run this evening. 

I'm using Slackware as well. A 7.0 system with lots of updates from -current,
(Does that make it 7.0 and a half? :-)

Thanks also to Paul Barnfather for the reply. 

I'm looking forward to trying Bals out. I'm a long time xfmail user, but tired
of the old interface, and other glitches. (Sure hope there's GnuPG support
soon.)
