Compiling balsa

I have just downloaded balsa from CVS and attempted to compile it on my
RedHat 5.2 system with gnome 1.0 instlalled. I run autogen.sh and then
make and get the following output:
cd . && autoheader
make all-recursive
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/rgs/gnome/balsa'
Making all in macros
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/rgs/gnome/balsa/macros'
make[2]: Nothing to be done for `all'.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/rgs/gnome/balsa/macros'
Making all in po
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/rgs/gnome/balsa/po'
file=./`echo de | sed 's,.*/,,'`.gmo \
  && rm -f $file && PATH=../src:$PATH no -o $file de.po
/bin/sh: no: command not found
make[2]: *** [de.gmo] Error 127
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/rgs/gnome/balsa/po'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/rgs/gnome/balsa'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

How do I fix this to get balsa to compile.
