Balsa 0.49 (and previous)

I can't seem to send mail from Balsa. In the preferences the "Remote
SMTP Server" is disabled even though I entered my smtp server name in
the setting up of Balsa? What am I missing? Looking in the .balsarc
file it does have my smtp server there.
