Some of you might be interested in reading my "mass desktop
configuration experiences" post from roughly a year ago:

I really see Sabayon as a tool to take some of the pain out of
managing and deploying a default profile for the desktop user in a
large environment, replacing the hacky mess of shell scripts and
distribution customizations that you currently have to resort to (lest
you be stuck tweaking N desktops by hand!). :)
