Re: Perl and ORBit2

Hi Kashif,

The perl ORBit1 mapping seems fairly complete to me, and I'm using it
for control of production servers (the servers are C++ and export a
CORBA interface).

If you are going to use the ORBit1 binding look at the CPAN search pages
for version 0.4.7 - the CPAN maintains wouldn't let Huw (the guy that
did the last release) put them in the normal by-module hierarchy for
some reason so there is an old 0.4.3 version there.

If you'd like to update it to ORBit2 then Michael is right the the
python ORBit bindings will be a good source of "inspiration" :).

If you do go ahead, please try to keep the perl API to the
CORBA::ORBit::mapping POD document as there are enough incompatible perl
CORBA mappings already :)

I can offer to test any perl ORBit2 binding but time constraints mean
that's likely to be all I could help with.

Cheers,
Alex.
