gupnp-av-cp doesn't play the media itself, it's using a media renderer.
Since audio is working, I assume you already have some renderer of some
kind; as you mention Rygel, it probably is the renderer included in
Rygel which should be able of playing videos as well - maybe you're
missing the necessary GStreamer codecs? Watch Rygel's output for that.

If you're not using Rygel's renderer, the renderer you're using probably
only supports audio. So you'd need one which supports video as well.
