Book Chapter

Thanks to all who helped with the review of the GNOME chapter I posted
recently. I have some good news about this chapter: it's traditional for
new books to have at least one chapter published on a web site for people
to review it and get an idea of whether they like the book. I spoke with
my editor about taking this one step further, and she has gotten the OK
for me to release the GNOME chapter under an open source license.

It was originally written using StarOffice, and was ultimately converted
into Microsoft Word format. I guess the best thing to do now is turn it
into DocBook format, right? I've never worked with DocBook before, but I
suspect it won't be that hard to do.

I haven't thought about which license to use - for convenience and
clarity, I told my editor that I wanted to release it under something that
complies with the open source definition, and this is what I got the OK
for. Is there any license in particular that would make it easier for
people to use this chapter? I tried poking around www.fsf.org to see if
there was a recommended license for documentation, but I couldn't find it
(I'm a little rushed this morning, so I'll look again when I have more
time).
