Well, I did not reply, because I think that the people who told you
that doing a unified component model is hard are right.

So I was expecting you to read source code and try implementing a
component/container in each system and then come back with a concrete
idea.

My suggestion is thus: to understand the issues involved, I believe
the best thing that can be done is to write a complete and fully
features component in all systems and *then* try to devise a
strategy. 

I am not familiar enough with a full OpenPart component to comment
more (although, I am still firmly convinced that KOM/OP compound
document system is wrong).
