Based on observation of inexperienced users trying to use the Gimp, I
feel comfortable saying it is extremely confusing to new users. While
it's possible to do a lot better and keep the same level of features,
Adobe Photoshop, which is much easier to use for new users, is still
very hard. People still want things like MacPaint.

So I think it's useful to have a really simple paint program for
simple tasks. It remains to be seen whether gpaint is usable or stable
enough right now to ship as part of the extra apps release though. I'm
sure Ian and Jamin can make that call.
