Ok, thanks. I had actually done everything but enabling the extension in
the tools menu... Which I tried to do when I had the extension files
elsewhere, but not while in ~/.gnome2/epiphany/extensions/ 

Thanks a lot for that! That helps make epiphany much more natural
feeling for me.
