[Fwd: Re: Mozilla, Firefox, Thunderbird and Nvu]

Hopefully the last forwarded mail in this thread. Currently, Frederic is looking into building epiphany/galeon against firefox, because of the package size and the size of additional translation packs.

Pulled == required.

ATM, mozilla main package size when installed in 50MB, with 24MB from the
translation jars (which mean real size is disk will be smaller since we
don't install all languages packs for most systems). Firefox (without
translation) is taking 23MB. When I wrote my initial reply, I didn't
though translations were taking that much space. I think I was some
hackery in firefox package to enable compression for the jar file, it
might be interesting to port that to mozilla package.

Another problem is that firefox will be installed on system by default (it
hasn't been decided if it will be the default browser yet) and if
epiphany/galeon are using mozilla package, we will end up with 3 browsers
installed on the system (firefox, mozilla and epiphany (or galeon)).

I'll cc me to that bug.
