proxy authentication

hello,

i am not succeeding in logging into our proxy server using epiphany-1.2.6. when i try to connect to the internet with mozilla i get deferred to a form on the proxy server where i have to enter my username and password. once this is done, connecting to the web proceeds perfectly.

however, with epiphany (which came with my updated linux distrbibution) there is a small delay and then a window appears with "This document contains no data." i don't seem to be able to get to the proxy login page.

if however i login to the proxy first with mozilla and then switch across to epiphany (ie. once i have authenticated myself) then epiphany works perfectly well.

i though that this may be something to do with gconf settings, however in /system/http_proxy i have both the authentication_password and authentication_user fields filled in correctly and the use_authentication and use_http_proxy options are checked.

any ideas how i might get this working?

incidentally, i have the same experience with galeon-1.3.16.

best regards,
andrew.

ps. i also noted that in order for mozilla to work nicely i had to disable the 'Enable TLS' option in Privay & Security->SSL.
