Humm, get the PCRE srpm and build them from it. pcre-3.5-1mdk.srpm will
generate 3 rpms, among them libpcre0-devel. In the meantime, check if you
have any 'pcre-config' anywhere in your system that may be confusing
configure. You can also try ./configure --disable-pcre and build without
pcre.
