_NET_WM_STATE_FULLSCREEN

Hi,

I just had a short discussion with Gerd Knorr (Xawtv author) about what the
windowmanager should implement. The special problem is, what shall X11 clients
do, when they want another videomode and fullscreen? How do they specify which
videomode they want? I think the best would be, if the client would send some
X event message to the root window, because its not good if the client would
simply change the videomode. And I think the windowmanager *absoulutely* can
not assume that when a _NET_WM_STATE_FULLSCREEN message is recieved the
videomode should be switched. (to which videomode should the WM switch?)
