some activities in spatial nautilus

I'm trying to use the spatial nautilus in day to day activities and came
across something I'm not sure how is supposed to be dealt with. I've
got a very simple task, copy a screenshot image to the filesystem of a
remote server so it can be accessed by apache.
As far as I can see, with spatial nautilus (with the default buttons on
the desktop, ie: computer, trash, application shortcuts) is as follows:
1 open my computer icon
2 navigate to my home directory (where the image is)
3 right click on a random folder somewhere in $HOME and choose browse
folder
4 use the location bar in the "classic" nautilus window that pops up
and enter in ssh://user host
5 navigate to the website/images directory
6 drag and drop image across
This seems a bit excessive. I'm sure there are other ways to do it, but
to me this seemed the "most logical".
As an aside I didn't actually get past step 4 as apparently my login was
incorrect via ssh (my ssh keys work, assuming a nautilus bug, but that's
not the point here).
Just a couple of senarios with other file navigators, all assuming drag
and drop and not copy / paste and blatently ignoring bookmarks or quick
access icons:
"Old" Nautilus
- double click on home icon on desktop
- double click on home icon on desktop again
- put in ssh://user host in lcoation car
- drag and drop
Konqueror (one of many I'm sure)
- open home folder via desktop or taskbar
- ctrl-shift-l to split window
- type in ssh (or fish://) location
- drag and drop from one side to the other
MacOS 10.3.x Finder
- apple-n to open a window
- click on home in left side
- apple-k to open the server list
- enter in ftp (or does it do ssh as well?) information
- drag and drop
Command line :)
- scp /home/alan/file.png alan server:website/path/wherever
I'm not trying to flame here, but I'm interested in discussion on why
such a seemingly simple (and I assume, common) operation seems so
complicated, not only in Nautilus, but also in pretty much every other
desktop file manager out there.
