[Nautilus-list] No snap to grid for desktop icons

If I enable the "Use Nautilus to draw desktop" feature, I get desktop 
icons which don't line up properly (that is, to make a row of icons 
align along an invisible axis). There's no snap-to-grid feature such 
that I have to manually align the icons. This has been a feature of 
GMC, KDE 2 and yes Windows.
