[Nautilus-list] Trash disappeared from desktop

I used to have a trash icon on the desktop. Now it disappeared, it is 
still shown in the desktop directory of the file manager, but to access 
the trash on the desktop, I could only use a link, which doesn't offer 
the same functionality.
Any suggestions?
