Why gtkmm needs pangomm atkmm glibmm etc

Hi

 

i am new to gtkmm, when i compiled it it gave its dependency on pangomm atkmm glibmm... since gtkmm is just a wrapper over gtk+ API why does it need these libraries

i want to use gtkmm but the overall size increase is about 3 mb..

 

can some body throw some light over the need for for these libraries
