Do you mean 2.12.1 here?

You'll almost certainly need a newer version of cairomm with gtkmm
2.9.10.  It looks like the configure script for gtkmm isn't updated
yet, however, so it didn't catch this for you.  I think you'll need at
least 0.6.0, but I'll have to look into it.

Without more information about the actual error, I can't offer much more help.
