[gtkmm] Transparent background in a Pango::Layout

["Find All" <find_all hotmail com>]

I'm drawing an image into a Gtk::DrawingArea and want to write text on that 
image.

Is there a way to set a transparent background for a Pango::Layout?
If not, is there another way to write a string with an expecific font, 
size,color but with a transparent background?
