[gtkmm] treeview extended selection

I try to make a right-click menu in a gtkmm2 treeview with the selection mode set to EXTENDED (to perform some operation on the entire selection).
To do this, i have to catch the button_release signal.

But when i click on an extended selection, the selection is removed (ie only the clicked element remains selected).

Does someone know the event responsible for doing this, and how to block it. 
Or does someone have any other idea to solve this ?
