Problems to get GTK+ to run on Mac OS X Panther

Hello everyone

I am trying to get GTK+ and GTK+extra to run on Mac OS X Panther
I am not a Unix Genius, got quite far so far, but am stuck now at a  
very specific problem

i installed all the packages needed by GTK+ in this order

freetype-2.1.5
automake-1.7
gettext-0.12.1
libtool 1.3.5
jpegsrc.v6b
pkgconfig-0.15.0
gawk-3.1.3
make-3.80
zlib
libpng
libiconv-1.9.1
tiff-v3.6.0
glib-2.2.3
pango-1.2.5
atk-1.2.4

this is what i believe i need to have installed to get GTK+ running
the ./configure run's without errors,
but the error occurs during the  'make' process

now i am stuck with only this error in GTK+
does anyone with more unix experience than me got a clue what this  
might be?
what am i doing wrong?
