Hi,

At some point in the 2.x series (but post-2.0) we would like to have 
"IDE-style" MDI I think. IDE-style is the thing where you have a bunch
of "dock points" and you can stack windows in notebooks at each dock
point, or detach the windows.

However I don't know whether this will happen for 2.2/2.4/2.6 or
beyond, it depends on what other features are planned and what people
contribute.
