How to set the font in gtk2

HI, sorry if this is a silly question?

But I cann't find a way to change the font in gtk2 program?

I put the following lines in my ~/.gtkrc-2.0 but it just did nothing
for my default fonts? ANy one can give me a suggestion that how
can I can change the default font?
