You could have an old version of gtk and glib, previously installed. Check if
you have the file /usr/bin/glib-config. The environment variable PATH could say
that the system must check first the directory /usr/bin, so glib-config returns
an older version. If so, clean older versions of glib and gtk+, and proceed
again.
