  That's very, very, not true.  I've been coding for 15 years, and have
written and maintain programs tens of thousands of  lines long for the US
department of commerce.  I maintain other people's code for the DOC too,
so have the perspective of hindsight.

caution a newcomer on the hazards of going overboard, which I have
seen...
  I downloaded a Delphi program once whose only function was to put fancy
tooltips into Windows Explorer.  The source was 107 files.
