GtkClist + other widgets ???

Hi!
I have a clist that is packed into one vbox with the gdrawing area. I noticed
a strange behavior. I draw in the area through the background pixmap and
then call gtk_widget_draw() to update the area. Everything was fine until
I added a clist. Whenever the list gets updated everything on the drawing
area disappears. Why? How do they get connected together if they are different
widgets?
