Comboboxentry events

Hello.
It seems that the 'changed' events from a comboboxentry widget get 
triggered for every keystroke in the entry widget AND mouse selection 
from the menu. Is there a way to differentiate between these two events 
so that I know if the user used the mouse to select an item or if he is 
entering via the keyboard?
