not using X ressources in GTK+

Hi,

GTK+ isn't using X Ressources for its configuration. I'm curious to know
why, but I didn't find info on that (and the FAQ on gtk.org is currently
offline). Could someone please point me to some doc/archive where this
is discussed ?
