[GnomeMeeting-list] Doing a presentation about GnomeMeeting

Hello everybody,

First please let me give you some words about myself.

I am a Free Software fan living in Brussels and I work since four years
as a consultant specialised in software development (not necessarily free for the moment).

I am using Debian GNU/Linux Sid since a year and a half and I want to pursue my pursue my computer use (personal and professional) in that direction.

I participate at two LUGs, the BxLUG in Brussels and Linuca in Santander, Spain, my hometown. In my signature you have links to both
places. I also had the chance to meet Daniel Sandras in one of the presentations that he did in our LUG.

Enough about me I think, now about my engagement on GnomeMeeting.

The reason for subscribing to both lists is that I plan to do a GnomeMeeting presentation at my consulting company in two weeks. I chose to do this presentation mainly as an excuse to force me to learn and explore GnomeMeeting features, a program that clearly shows a very big potential as a communication system.

My experience with GnomeMeeting is quite reduced though. I have installed it on my desktop and my laptop and I succeeded in receiving a Netmeeting connection (audio and video) in my desktop through my Linux NAT box. After that I have not touched gnomemeeting in the last two months. I am currently studing the FAQ and the doc.

With the short time availability and some presentations that Damien
kindly sent to me my objective is to explore the following features
by order of preference:

*    Basic VoIP connection.
* ILS, Gatekeeper and Firewall issues.
* Inet-to-phone calls via a quicknet card (I need to get the card first)
* If time allows and I can get a webcam I would also like to explore
     some video features.

All this needs to be implemented in a presentation deliverable and ideally (although I don't think I will make it) prepare a demo in
my company with two laptops and a possible gatekeeper PC.

Of course after the presentation I will still be a GM fan, and I will try to contribute with testing or translation efforts in the project.

This is the end of the spam :), and thanks for your attention. In separate emails I will send my pertinent questions.

Regards,

	Miguel Telleria
