Re: [gnome-summary] Anybody alive?

Followup.

I think i've identified something here, bare with me.

Jim here, if i may be presumptious, Comes from a academic background where he's experiences that people report back at milestones and other task completion. this is also something i expect.

Jim along with Sriram are our managers at the summary/journal, we seldom get more than Sri's status reports and published weekly/bi-weekly summaries.
What are the rest of us up to?
I for one have no idea, as both me and Kevin finished our tasks some time ago.

Can I propose a course of action?

Well i'll just do it anyway, so here goes:
When working with projects such as the summary / Journal something that needs to be done is to publish some form of report on what the status is for your part of the project.

Never go into complete dark, i.e  radio silence, this is something every manager dreads, they have no clue as to what you might be up to; they're unable to do their own work if we fall behind on the reporting.

If you have ideas email either sri or jim about it.

I can't stress this one hard enough; Notify the list as often as possible about the status of your task.

Be as visible on the list as possible if you intend to chip in, we need to know what everyone is up to.

if you are not good at communicating or writing reports, BLOG what you're up to, all of us are more or less very disorganised.

if you're hit with a sudden blast of inspiration, don't let it waste, work it until it's passed your system.

oh and last but not least, talk people, i know only half of you guys and gals(?)

We're not communicating good enough.

silence is very bad.

Cheers!
