workspace switch in gnome2.4 doesn't work with openbox

Hi,

I am using openbox with gnome now.

But I found that the workspaceswitch (from gnome-panel) doesn't
work properly.

I keep telling me something like 'COMM FAILURE'.

>From ML, this error is just means that the applet doesn't start.

How can I make it work again?

IMO, metacity and openbox both support the same EWM spec, it should be
not a problem for me to replace metacity with openbox..
