If you want to find a file use the 'find' function in the Gnome File Manager. Also with gnomeicu just click the foot click run and enter gnomeicu it will run and also install itself on the panel,
It's a great program that has it's own looks and feel without being a copy of the miribilis one. Personally I prefer it.
