Re: gtk+ 1.0 vs 1.1



I installed the newest version of Gimp and I've got it and Gnome 0.99.8 running.  Try to find Gimp 1.1.x.  I don't know if you're using Redhat/RPM or not but I just now did a search at http://ftpsearch.lycos.com and it looks like there are some 1.1.2 RPMs available as long as you don't mind downloading them from Germany.

I never could have succeeded in getting Gnome running on my machine without the Lycos ftp search.  Sometimes the RPMs I need will only be available on a small server in Japan, Russia or Sweden.  I wonder though if it's safe to use these files.  Am I putting myself at risk doing this?  For the most part I haven't run into problems.
