Can't compile ORBit 0.3.97 or 0.3.98

I've been away a short while and I noticed that new releases of gnome were
out, so I decided to give 'em a try. I seem to have a problem compiling
ORBit 0.3.97 and 0.3.98 on my Slackware linux machine.

Both source trees die at that same place:

gcc -g -O2 -o .libs/name-client name-client.o -Wl,--rpath
-Wl,/usr/local/lib ../../../src/orb/.libs/libORBit.so -L/usr/local/lib
-lglib -lm -Wl,--rpath -Wl,/usr/local/lib
../../../src/IIOP/.libs/libIIOP.so -Wl,--rpath -Wl,/usr/local/lib
../../../src/ORBitutil/.libs/libORBitutil.so -Wl,--rpath
-Wl,/usr/local/lib .libs/libORBitCosNaming.so -L/usr/local/lib -lglib -lm
../../../src/IIOP/.libs/libIIOP.so: undefined reference to
`allow_severity'
../../../src/IIOP/.libs/libIIOP.so: undefined reference to `deny_severity'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[4]: *** [name-client] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory
`/usr/local/src/X11/gnome/libs/ORBit-0.3.97/src/services/name'

I did upgrade all other required packages before attempting ORBit and they
installed without a problem.

Current config is: kernel 2.2.1, glibc 2.0.7, egcs 2.90.29, ld 2.9.1
(binutils 2.9.1.0.19a).

Anyone know what's going on here?
