Also, I note that for the Nth time, the requested fix to
ORBit/popt/configure.in has not been applied.  I'm assuming, therefore, that
it's been decided that the current broken code is in some broken sense
"correct".  (I'm not going to post a patch because so far I've done so twice,
the result in both cases being discussion that wound down to a final
"solution" that was never applied.)
