Hi,

I got this too, compiling on Solaris, and I'm trying to remember what I did to 
fix it.

I *think* the problem was in the capplets library from Control-Centre.  If I 
remember rightly, I fixed it by going into 
.../control-center-0.99.5/control-center, and doing a:

	make clean; make; make install
	
One quick check would be to see if this symbol turns up in an nm of 
.../control-center-0.99.5/control-center/.libs/libcapplet.so.0.0.0.
