question regarding using icons on desktop...?

hi there.

Just a quick question - I have just recently installed X11amp, and in the
tar.gz file was an X11 icon. How do utilise this icon and make it apear on
my desktop. That is, using Enlightement, i want to ad a launcher to the
gnome panel, how do i make it use the X11icon rather than the default set of
icons it brings up...? alternatively, how can i have the icon on the desktop
as a "shortcut" to the program??

any ideas...?
