Sanitisation Tester

My gnome installation is screaming problems all over the place.
Since I don't particuarly feel like having to reinstall linux,
I was wondering whether there was a tool available to identify
gnome setup problems? - library incompatibilities and missing
required libraries. If not then this could be a handy tool to
put together.
