NASTY problem....

I've been experiencing a really nasty problem lately. It *seems* to be
when I use grip to rip mp3's from a CD, though I don't see how that could
really be the cause. This may not be the appropriate list to post to, it
may be a kernel issue. But here goes.

I'll be going along fine, ripping mp3's. Then after a few tracks (maybe 2)
I'll pull up a terminal. The odd thing is I'll get a syntax error. It
varies as to which syntax error I get, but usually something about bad
syntax for if statement or something. Then occasionally an Eterm will just
die. Then grip will segfault. Then after a while my system will hang
completely. The keyboard is locked...If I hurry i can telnet or ssh into
the system from a machine on the local network...but if I don't act fast,
the computer will completely lock.

Here is the message I get:

#unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 06672000
current->tss.cr3 = 06672000, %cr3 = 06672000

and another time in my /var/log/messages I read after the crash:

.....

Any clue?? If this is a kernel issue, how do I go about reporting it?

Thanks,

Jamin Gray
