Gnome cavas and Drag&Drop

In gcompris, we use the gnome canvas and in one board we implement a
simple drawing utility.
In it we use Drag And Drop to create items.
It always happens that is the use double/triple click, the last release
event is not sent to our event loop and thus we stay locked in
Drag&Drop.

Any idea on a fix/workaround for that.
