Re: openoffice 1.1 beta 2 accessibility

Is OpenOffice.org launched from the command line ? If so, you should see some output in that console saying something like "Registering Application".

If this does not happen, ensure you have gconftool-2 in your path and OpenOffice.org is compiled using a jdk >= 1.4: the <install path>/program/classes must contain a java_uno_accessbridge.jar file.

Also make sure to select the accessible jre: take a look at <install path>/user/config/javarc and check the configured jre. To alter the jre, run jvmsetup from the program directory.

Hope this helps,
Oliver

Ralf, Oliver,

you have more experience on this, any ideas?
Has somebody of you tried the OpenOffice beta release?
I am not sure if it's the same build like the StarOffice beta release.

Malte.

Hi
That key has always been turned on, it is required for basic gnome
accessibility. However, it doesn't seem to effect openoffice in the
slightest. I still get nothing but silence when attempting to run it. I
put 1.1 beta 1 back on for now and it works fine... well, as fine as it
ever did.

You can use the gconf editor: desktop/gnome/interface/accessibility.

Hi
What gconf key is this? I can't seem to find it on the openoffice
website.
My .orbitrc contains the required java-bridge line and the java
bridge is
the latest from CVS (I just updated it). The java bridge works fine
with
the
demos that come with the j2sdk 1.4.1_02, so I am left assuming that
it is
this gconf key. So which key is it? The main gnome accessibility key
is
already enabled and always has been.

Jacob,

be sure to use Java 1.4.1_02 or higher, and a current version of
the Java
Access Bridge.
There is a configuration item in GConf for enabling Accessibility,
you
shouldn't need SAL_ACCESSIBILITY_ENABLED anymore.
