Hi,

according to http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143970 fortran
should be already supported in the latest version of gtksourceview,
which is the library that gedit uses for syntax highlighting etc.
I suggest upgrading to the latest GNOME/gedit/gtksourceview, but if you
can't do it probably you can just fetch the fortran.lang file and put it
in /usr/share/gtksourceview-1.0/language-specs/.
