Took me some digging but I found it :)

the configure args for mozilla specifically state the --disable-debug,
but the gar.gnome.ml in the garnome source top dir switches it on again
with the comment debug is good.

As the assertions are more then annoying, I am recompiling only mozilla
with the --enable-debug removed
