Garnome seems to work fine when compiled with gcc 3.x, I use 3.1 myself.
Problems will arise when you compile c++-programs which use libraries
compiled with an earlier version of gcc. There were even some c++ ABI
changes from 3.1 to 3.2.
But gnome is written in C so this won't cause any problems.
