re: more font troubles



This is normal font behavior in X.

Installing the new fonts doesn't make the server aware of them. If you let
your X server handle the TTF's, then exiting and restarting X will fix it.
(Maybe you can issue "xset fp rehash" as well; I'm not sure.) If you use
xfstt, then you need to restart it. xfstt(1x) doesn't show any signals you
can use for re-reading config files/font databases, so unless you have a
SysV script for xfstt somewhere in your rc.? directories, you probably
need to kill it and restart it manually.
